Job Summary
The Employee Health Medical Assistant works within the Quality Department in collaboration with Human Resources to support employee health and clinical onboarding activities. Responsibilities include assisting with the new hire process, monitoring compliance with employee health requirements, and maintaining required documentation and records in accordance with NOAH policies and procedures.
The Employee Health Medical Assistant supports clinical new employee orientation activities, including coordination of N95 respirator medical clearance and mask fitting and management of annual employee immunizations and vaccines. These activities support regulatory compliance, workforce readiness, and patient and staff safety.
Duties/Responsibilities
Partner with Human Resources to process new hire employees to meet all health screening requirements
Communicate with newly hired employees regarding completion of health screenings tasks and follow up as needed.
Interpret TB skin test results (if needed), review vaccine history, schedule vaccine appointments, order vaccines (with a standing order), administer required vaccines, follow up with vaccines required and upload health information into the workforce development platform and the event reporting system, answer new-hire health screening questions and communicate health clearances to HR.
Support employee health initiatives, including N95 mask fit testing, BLS training and other applicable employee training and certification activities
QualificationsRequired Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
Ability to read/write/speak English language
Proficient knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology and understanding of disease processes, pharmaceuticals, and diagnostic studies.
Skillful in working in cross-functional teams and individuals and the ability to influence others across all levels of internal and external organizations
Experience is process/quality improvement, quality measurement, auditing, or data analysis
Strong software aptitude (electronic medical records, abstraction software, internet explorer)
Possess analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficient user of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
Produce professional written communications and demonstrate professional verbal communication skills
Fluency in Spanish preferred
Education and Experience
Required
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum 2 years’ medical office experience
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Certified or Registered Medical Assistant OR completion of a Medical Assistant program that meets the BOMEX training guidelines OR completion of a United States Armed Forces medical services training program OR meet necessary guidelines as described in the Arizona Board of Medical Examiners Administrative Code, Title 4, Chapter 16, Article 4, Section R4-16-401, paragraphs A and B prior to start date
Current Fingerprint Clearance card, or within seven (7) working days after employment shall apply and be eligible for a Fingerprint Clearance Card (NOAH Clinical Sites and Pediatric Behavioral Health Sites ONLY)
