The Patient Safety Assistant is responsible for observing and interacting with confused, violent, or suicidal patients to prevent injury. They also assist with basic patient care functions and notify nursing staff for immediate medical interventions.
Candidates must be at least 18 years old and possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Excellent communication and behavioral management skills are required to ensure the safety of patients.

Nebraska Medicine is seeking a Patient Safety Assistant. This role is focused on monitoring is responsible for observing and interacting with confused, violent, combative, or suicidal patients to prevent injury. They assist with basic patient care functions and notify nursing staff for immediate interventions when needed. They remain in the room at all times, except for breaks, and may also observe multiple patients via video monitoring. This role is crucial for ensuring patient safety, early detection of health issues, and timely medical intervention.
Day Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Flexible self-scheduling allows you to select available shifts that fit your lifestyle.
Team members are scheduled for a minimum of 2 shifts per week (16 hours).
To support scheduling flexibility, candidates must be available to work 3-4 days per week, although they may not be scheduled on all available days.
Shifts are available 7 days a week, including weekends and holidays.
Location: Primarily located at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE. Required to float to the Bellevue Medical Center occasionally.
