The Medical Director ensures all clinical needs are met within the correctional facility by providing direct and indirect medical care. Responsibilities include conducting rounds, managing chronic care, responding to emergencies, and supervising medical staff to ensure compliance with mandates.
Candidates must hold an MD or DO degree, a valid state physician license, DEA registration, and board certification. Active BLS CPR certification and the physical ability to perform demanding tasks like lifting patients are also required.
