The Infrastructure Specialist – LATAM plays a key role in this transformation. This position is responsible for the execution and delivery of infrastructure solutions and project outcomes defined by Solution Architects. The role provides day‑to‑day operational support for infrastructure environments and AI‑driven initiatives across sites in the Americas region. The specialist ensures resilient, secure, and high‑performing platforms that enable business continuity and modernization.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Planning & Execution
Plan, implement, and validate changes to infrastructure components across LATAM sites.
Identify, analyze, map, and document information needs for current and future systems and processes.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, including Visio diagrams, architecture references, and executive‑level presentations.
Ensure project requirements and solution‑design specifications are fully and accurately implemented.
Document, manage permissions, and provide operational support for AVD (Azure Virtual Desktop) environments.
Support, Troubleshooting & Operations
Anticipate potential issues and take proactive steps to mitigate risks and disruptions.
Work closely with business users to ensure delivered solutions meet functional requirements and drive measurable business value.
Coordinate with procurement teams, vendors, and site managers for equipment acquisition, installations, and service activities.
Participate in system hardening, patching initiatives, and formal Change Requests (CRs).
Provide weekly follow‑up to LATAM plants and ensure timely execution of project milestones and status updates.
Continuous Improvement & Modernization
Evaluate and enhance operational processes to ensure they are efficient, reliable, and cost‑effective.
Support ongoing infrastructure modernization initiatives aligned with global IT strategy.
Cybersecurity & Compliance
Ensure strict adherence to global IT security policies, data protection regulations, and relevant industry standards.
Partner with regional and global security teams to implement cybersecurity initiatives and monitor compliance.
Qualifications
Requirements
Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
Strong knowledge of the manufacturing industry and familiarity with technology trends impacting industrial environments.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with fluency in English and Spanish.
5–7 years of hands‑on experience in IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, cloud technologies, and Azure services.
3–5 years of experience supporting Operational Technology (OT) environments.
Practical experience with Python automation, scripting, and integration.
Exposure to GPU‑based workloads, acceleration, or AI infrastructure is a strong advantage.
Solid understanding of IT service management (ITSM) concepts and frameworks; ITIL 4 certification or equivalent knowledge preferred.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and technical root cause analysis (RCA) skills.
Experience contributing to digital transformation initiatives, including Industry 5.0, smart manufacturing, or IoT/IIoT solutions.
Demonstrated focus on quality assurance, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
Strong awareness of IT compliance and cybersecurity standards such as ISO 27001 and CMMC.
Solid understanding of foundational networking concepts:
OSI & TCP/IP models, packet flow, and zero‑trust principles.
Network services: DNS, DHCP, NAT, NTP.
IPv4 addressing, subnetting, and routing fundamentals.
Knowledge of switching technologies:
VLANs, trunking, STP, and static vs. dynamic routing.
