  • You're an HVAC pro! You’ve been helping people with their HVAC problems for a years now..
  • You're great with people. HVAC problems are stressful, but you know the right way to talk to customers so they know everything will be taken care of.

  • Bonus points: You have your EPA and a few NATE Certifications. If you don't, that's ok, too!

Summary of Position

Service Technician: Perform thorough maintenance & repair on all ages of equipment, with the ability to accurately diagnose heating and air conditioning system issues. Must be able to recognize potential breakdown issues before they happen and make the appropriate recommendations to the customer. Must be able to discuss various options for the clients regarding repair or replacing their system.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience with residential HVAC maintenance or service repairs, including heat pumps, gas furnaces, air conditioning units, etc. or a Tech Builder program graduate
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills
  • EPA Universal or Type II EPA certification
  • Knowledgeable and skilled in the safe use and maintenance of required tools
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to speak, read, and write fluently in the English language

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional years of experience with residential HVAC maintenance or service repairs, including heat pumps, gas furnaces, air conditioning units, etc.
  • NATE Certification
  • HVAC education (Associates, Diploma, Certificate) or Manufacturer Training

Compensation & Benefits

  • $30.00 – $38.00/hour based on experience and skills (plus spiff), potential to make $100,000+ annually

  • 2-3 weeks paid vacations and 6 paid holidays

Work Hours

Monday - Friday + on-call (rotating evenings & weekends) 7:30 am-4:30pm (end time may extend past 4:30 p.m. due to the nature of residential heating & cooling)

Physical Demands & Work Environment

The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

This role requires working in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments, often in changing weather conditions and temperatures. As an HVAC Service Technician, you’ll regularly move between residential homes, mechanical rooms, and job sites that may include tight or confined spaces.

Technicians must be comfortable climbing ladders, working on rooftops, and accessing attics, basements, and crawl spaces. The position requires the ability to safely lift, carry, and maneuver equipment and materials, as well as perform tasks that involve bending, kneeling, reaching, and standing for extended periods.

You’ll also need to be comfortable using hand and power tools, maintaining awareness of your surroundings, and following all safety protocols while working in potentially challenging environments.

Other Requirements : A valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and the ability to pass a criminal background check
