The surgical technician collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to prepare the operating room and ensure all necessary equipment and supplies are available. They are responsible for handling instruments during surgical procedures and articulating the needs of the surgeon.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and be a graduate of a surgical technologist program or have equivalent military training. At least one year of prior experience as a surgical technologist is required.
Your Job:
In this highly technical, fast-paced, and rewarding position, you'll collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide the very best care for patients. The Surgical Technician I understands the procedure being performed and assures that all equipment, instrumentation, and supplies are available for the case. Articulates the needs of the surgeon. Handles the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. Participates in setting up and turning over the operating room for cases.
Your Job Requirements:
• High School Diploma and/or GED equivalent
• Graduate of Surgical Technologist program, military trained, or AD in Surgical Technology preferred
• Complies with Texas House Bill #643
• 1 year or more prior experience and must have worked as a Surgical Technologist prior to 09/01/2009 (if not a graduate of a Surgical Technology Program)
