The Role
The Operations Specialist plays an essential role in creating the environment our students and staff deserve each day. As a member of the operations team, this individual helps ensure our school is safe, welcoming, and exceptionally well run so that students, families, and staff can focus on teaching and learning. Through a proactive mindset, a commitment to excellence, and pride in the details, the Operations Specialist helps create a campus that reflects the high expectations we hold for ourselves and our community. This role continuously monitors the quality of our facilities and grounds, identifies opportunities for improvement, and coordinates timely solutions to ensure our campus remains safe, functional, beautiful, and ready to support extraordinary student outcomes.
Core Responsibilities:
Conduct daily inspections of the school campus, ensuring a safe, clean, and functional environment.
Identify, prioritize, and coordinate the resolution of maintenance, cleanliness, and safety concerns, including submitting work orders and partnering with district personnel, vendors, and contractors as needed.
Maintain accurate records of facility concerns, work orders, and resolutions.
Proactively identify trends or recurring issues and provide recommendations to enhance operational efficiency and quality standards.
Collaborate with the School Operations Manager and Director of Operations to develop and implement quality assurance programs for the school facility.
Take ownership of campus presentation and school operations, acting swiftly and thoroughly to resolve issues before they disrupt student learning or staff effectiveness.
Ensure all staff workrooms, break rooms, and printers are fully stocked and operational each day.
Assist with the distribution of supplies, curriculum materials, and incoming packages and mail to classrooms and staff
Set up, take down, and provide support during school-based events.
Help plan and execute school procedures such as arrival and dismissal, field trips, and school-wide special events

Educational Background & Experience:
Physical Requirements
This role requires regular physical activity to support a safe and well-functioning school environment. The Operations Specialist must be able to:
Stand, walk, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods throughout the workday
Lift and carry items up to 50 pounds unassisted; heavier items with assistance
Push, pull, and move furniture, equipment, and supply carts as needed
Climb ladders or step stools to perform maintenance or inspection tasks
Use hands and fingers to operate tools, equipment, and technology
Compensation & Benefits:
The Operations Specialist is an hourly, non-exempt position with a starting pay range of $20-$29 per hour. Meeting Street Schools offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:
