Job Summary
M.S. Willett Inc. — BLEMA North America is looking for a Technical Buyer to manage the procurement of materials and components. Based at our facility in Littlestown, PA, you will source everything from raw materials and tool steels to precision-machined components and complete subassemblies — working directly with domestic suppliers and international partners across Europe. This role combines technical knowledge with commercial skill.
Responsibilities and Duties
Source, evaluate, and select suppliers for raw materials, tooling components, machined parts, and subassemblies based on quality, cost, and delivery requirements
Review engineering drawings, technical specifications, and bills of materials (BOMs) to determine procurement requirements for customer orders
Negotiate pricing, terms, lead times, and contracts with suppliers to achieve best value while maintaining quality standards
Issue and manage purchase orders in our ERP system (Total ETO), track order status, and ensure on-time delivery to support production schedules
Coordinate international procurement and logistics
Monitor supplier performance through delivery tracking, quality metrics, and cost analysis — escalate issues and drive corrective action when needed
Process and verify incoming invoices against purchase orders and receiving records, resolving discrepancies promptly
Build and maintain a qualified supplier base, including onboarding new vendors, conducting supplier evaluations, and managing approved supplier lists
Manage supplier claims and coordinate resolution of quality or delivery issues in collaboration with engineering and quality teams
Stay current on market conditions, material pricing trends, and supply chain risks that could impact production
Qualifications and Skills
Required:
3+ years of experience in technical purchasing or procurement within a manufacturing environment (metalworking, tooling, machinery, or similar)
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and bills of materials
Strong negotiation skills and demonstrated experience managing supplier relationships
Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems for purchase order management and inventory control
Working knowledge of import/export processes, international shipping documentation, and U.S. customs requirements
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for cost analysis and reporting
High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred
Preferred:
Experience with Total ETO or similar engineer-to-order ERP systems
Background in metal forming, tooling, die making, or packaging machinery industries
APICS, CPSM, or similar supply chain/procurement certification
German language skills (beneficial for communication with European sister companies)
Experience with incoterms, letters of credit, and international trade compliance
Benefits and Perks
Hourly Pay: $36-$39 per hour, based on depth of expertise and machine experience
401(k) retirement plan with generous company match: 100% on the first 3% of your contributions, plus 50% on the next 2%
Medical insurance (Aetna), dental insurance (United Concordia), and vision insurance (National Vision Administrators)
Employer-paid life insurance and short-term disability coverage
8 paid holidays annually
Paid time off (PTO) accrued by length of service: 120 hours/year (Years 1–6), 160 hours/year (Years 7–14), and 200 hours/year (Year 15+)
Paid leaves of absence including bereavement, military leave, jury duty, and witness/victim of crime leave
Opportunities for skills training, cross-training, and career advancement within a growing global organization
Stable, full-time employment backed by a 95-year legacy and the financial strength of The Leonhardt Group
