The Homemaker is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of resident rooms and communal areas through various cleaning and laundry tasks. Additionally, the role involves assisting clientele with personal hygiene and nutrition while overseeing volunteers.
Candidates must have a minimum Grade 12 education and at least one year of recent related experience. A current Occupational First Aid Level 1 Certificate and the ability to pass a criminal record check are also required.

Probationary/qualifying period will be 488 hours with mid and end point reviews
$23.89 - 25.54 depending upon applicants' length of seniority (as per the Collective Agreement)
The Homemaker reports to the Site Manager and works in accordance with the mission and philosophy of Lookout Housing and Health Society including following Lookout’s Code of Ethics. The Homemaker performs a variety of cleaning duties ensuring the cleanliness and tidiness of resident and/or shelter rooms and communal areas.
This position requires successful completion of respirator fit testing, as Lookout is COR (Certificate of Recognition) certified and must comply with WorkSafeBC health and safety requirements. To ensure a proper respirator seal during fit testing and use, employees are required to be clean-shaven where the respirator seals against the face.

Securing appropriate housing is the first and most essential step in achieving responsible independence for individuals. We house more than 2,300 people every night in shelters and residences and operate within 76 buildings across the Lower Mainland. With over 1,600 employees, we are among the province's largest non-profits and, unfortunately, continue to grow larger because of the increased demand for our services. We believe homelessness can be solved with everyone's help and the first step towards that goal is understanding homelessness.
