Responsibilities

Responsible for fermentation production operations, including preparing reactors, loading raw materials, and operating PLCs to monitor parameters. Duties also include cleaning and sterilizing equipment, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring warehouse organization.

Requirements

A high school diploma or GED is required, with preferred knowledge in fermentation, microbiology, or machine maintenance. Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work a flexible schedule including weekends.

We specialize in high performance intermediary formulations and produce glycolipids and microbes that act as formulation enhancers- pushing performance beyond the limits of conventional chemistry.

What you’ll be doing:

Position is responsible for performing the duties and responsibilities of fermentation production operations.

Location: Solon, OH

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare reactors for fermentation including loading raw materials, setting parameters, testing equipment functionality, and inoculation of culture. 
  • Operate PLC to gather data and set temperature, pH, and other parameters. 
  • Prepare scheduled samples for testing and analysis by quality control. 
  • Clean and sterilize equipment, reactors, and all parts utilized in production. 
  • Maintain warehouse area and ensure high level of cleanliness and organization of materials. 
  • Perform routine maintenance on reactors, tanks, pumps, and other production equipment. 
  • Wear required PPE while carrying out position responsibilities.
  • Follow SOP’s and protocols to maintain product quality.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Knowledge or experience in fermentation, or microbiology preferred.
  • Schedule flexibility, including some weekend work required.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance preferred.    
  • Strong communication skills; both verbal and written.
  • Ability to identify problems and execute standard procedures.
  • Acute attention to detail.
  • Ability to use MS Word, Excel, Outlook efficiently. 

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to move through the warehouse 60% of the time and remain in a stationary position 40% of the time.  
  • Must be able to wear and properly utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, steel-toed boots, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
  • May require occasional lifting or carrying of materials or equipment weighing up to 50pounds.
    • Employee will occasionally use computer, phone, copier and other office equipment in the course of a day.  
    • The employee is required to consistently position self as appropriate to maintain equipment in the warehouse and progress production cycles. 

Work Environment:

  • Work is performed in a temperature-controlled warehouse environment. 
  • Environments may include exposure to loud machinery, heavy equipment, and operational hazards.
  • Must be adaptable to a dynamic environment with competing priorities and high-level business engagement.

Shift is a 10 hour work day/4 days per week. We run a 7 day operation. The opening is for Wednesday - Saturday from 7-5:30pm.
