ATHLETIC COACH

The athletic coach instructs athletes in the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport, fostering an inclusive environment that promotes self-discipline, character development, and school pride. They report directly to the Athletic Director and ensure all activities comply with district, state, and conference regulations.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
Practice & Game Management: Plan, organize, and conduct daily practices and lead the team during competitions, including weekend tournaments.
Skill Development: Teach fundamental and advanced skills, strategies, and proper conditioning to optimize performance.
Safety & Supervision: Ensure the safety of student-athletes by supervising them at all times, including practices, games, locker rooms, and on travel.
Academic & Behavioral Monitoring: Monitor the academic progress and conduct of student-athletes, emphasizing that "student" comes before "athlete".
Communication: Maintain clear communication with parents, staff, administration, and the media regarding schedules and expectations.
Equipment & Logistics: Maintain an inventory of uniforms and equipment, and assist with facility preparation.
Mentorship: Act as a positive role model, fostering good sportsmanship, teamwork, and fair play.
