Job Title: Clinical and Youth Development Supervisor

Status: Full-time (40 hours per week)/Non-Exempt

Reports to: YouthLine Maui Deputy Director of Operations and Statewide Outreach

Salary: The starting base rate for this role is $27 per hour plus a $2/hr. differential for employees who possess a Master's degree in a related field and a $1/hr. differential for hours worked in the office when regularly working in the office 3 days per week ($30 per hour when those differential apply). Location: Maui County. This position requires working on-site at a YouthLine call center 2-3 days per week in the evenings (4-5 hours each shift between 6:00-10:30pm) and the ability to travel to schools and community events.

About the Organization: Lines for Life is a regional non-profit that is dedicated to preventing substance abuse and suicide. We offer help and hope to individuals and communities and promote mental health for all. Our work addresses a spectrum of needs that include intervention, prevention, and advocacy. We educate, train, and advocate to prevent issues of substance abuse, mental illness, and thoughts of suicide from reaching crisis levels. But when a crisis arises or support is needed, we are available 24/7/365 to intervene with personalized help.

About YouthLine: YouthLine is a free peer-to-peer help, support, and crisis line for youth ages 10-24. For over 25 years, the YouthLine has helped support the mental wellness of young people, prevent youth suicide, and change culture around mental wellbeing through teen-to-teen mental health support. Teen and young adult volunteers and interns receive extensive training to serve as peer counselors for other youth and are supervised by educated clinicians with extensive crisis experience. The peer experience is critical: youth best understand the experience of their peers because they are living the same experience, uniquely situating them to provide meaningful, impactful support for youth in crisis.

Clinical and Youth Development Supervisor Position Overview: The Clinical and Youth Development Supervisor provides direct supervision, mentorship, and clinical oversight to youth and young adult volunteers on the YouthLine help, support, and crisis line. This role also supports the development and delivery of clinical training, implements quality assurance practices, and fosters a safe, inclusive environment that supports youth growth and wellbeing. The Supervisor balances real-time supervision with direct crisis line work, ensuring consistent, compassionate, and clinically sound support for youth in crisis while supporting best practices in youth development. The Supervisor will support Youth Development functions, including volunteer recruitment, training, oversight, scheduling, and continuing education. Additionally, this position will support YouthLine Education and Outreach initiatives by delivering mental health lessons in classrooms and staffing community events to increase YouthLine’s presence in the local community.

Compensation: This is a union position with a step progression based upon years of service at Lines for Life and below is the current step scale for the base rate and each step would have the $2 graduate degree differential and $1 in-office differential added onto the base pay when applicable:

0-3 years: $27.00 

3-5 years: $28.62 

5-7 years: $30.34 

7-10 years: $32.16

>10 years: $34.09
