Operate and maintain a variety of CNC and 3D printing machines to produce high-quality products according to specifications. Ensure all safety protocols are followed while performing quality inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment.

Requirements

Experience with CNC or 3D printers is preferred, along with a strong understanding of safety protocols and organizational skills. Candidates must be physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and working on their feet in a production environment.

Job Description: 

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Machine operator for our LightArt operations day shift. This role is responsible for running a variety of CNC and 3d printing machines. They must work safely, be self motivated and produce great quality products. The ideal candidate will have a CNC or 3d printing background, but this is not required. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Analyzes and resolves work problems. 
  • Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors; including, speed, feed, depth and angle of cut or enters commands to retrieve, input or edit computerized machine control media. 
  • Completes jobs / projects on-time, under budget and at 100% quality. 
  • Demonstrates attention to detail. 
  • Demonstrates the ability to measure and mark dimensions and reference points on material as guides for subsequent machining. 
  • Demonstrates the ability to operate conventional, special purpose and computer numerical control (CNC) machines to cut required material to job specifications. 
  • Ensures all safety procedures and company policies are followed. Ensures that all protective equipment (guards, PPE, etc.) is used at each step of the job. 
  • Ensures job work area is maintained at a high state of cleanliness. 
  • Ensures that quality is 100% each step of the machining process. 
  • Inspects and measures parts to verify and enforce quality conformance to specifications. 
  • Interprets specifications, prints, and job orders. 
  • Locates material required for the job. 
  • Maintains a positive attitude. 
  • Overtime hours are often required to perform the essential functions of the job. 
  • Performs preventive maintenance (i.e., oil, lubrication, etc.) on machines as required. 
  • Performs special projects, other duties and responsibilities as assigned. 
  • Provides suggestions and feedback for continuous process improvement. 
  • Reworks products which fail to meet quality standards. 
  • Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data. 
  • Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications. 

 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Experience in CNC or 3d printers  
  • Strong understanding of health and safety protocols 
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills 
  • Effective problem-solving 

  

Required physical strength: 

Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. Occasionally.   

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Occasionally. 

Must be able to work on your feet including, standing and walking. 

Must be able to work in and around production equipment, which includes occasionally climbing stairs, ladders, bending, stooping, standing, walking, kneeling, and reaching. 

Must be able to see / hear to visually and audibly acknowledge critical safety instructions, alarms, forklift traffic, perform quality inspections, and equipment inspections.
