Primary Responsibilities.
Support the creation and maintenance of Technical Data Package (TDP) artifacts, including engineering drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and specifications.
Assist in applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) in accordance with ASME Y14.5 standards.
Collaborate within integrated product teams (IPTs) to support drawing updates and production efforts.
Support production activities by assisting with troubleshooting mechanical issues and implementing corrective actions under the guidance of senior engineers.
Participate in engineering design reviews, peer reviews, and other technical meetings.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product quality, manufacturability, and engineering processes.
Assist in implementing engineering solutions under the guidance of the Responsible Engineer.
Basic Qualifications.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited institution.
U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
Must be a resident or willing to relocate to Huntsville, AL to work on-site.
Familiarity with 3D CAD software such as Creo, CATIA, AutoCAD, or SolidWorks.
Strong attention-to-detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Willingness to learn new engineering tools, processes, and technologies.
Preferred Qualifications.
Internship, co-op, undergraduate research, or academic project experience in mechanical design or manufacturing.
Experience creating engineering models and drawings using PTC Creo.
Familiarity with engineering drawings, bills of materials, and configuration management principles.
Familiarity with GD&T (ASME Y14.5) concepts.
Exposure to product lifecycle management (PLM) systems such as Windchill.
Exposure to manufacturing, assembly, or test environments.
Exposure to AS9100 or other quality management systems.
Experience working on multidisciplinary engineering projects.
Interest in supporting defense, aerospace, or advanced technology programs.
