Conduct structured 60-minute technical interviews across various domains including back-end, full-stack, and system design. Provide thorough written evaluations of candidate performance, technical knowledge, and communication skills.
Requires at least 3 years of professional software engineering experience and prior experience conducting technical interviews. Candidates must have a reliable home setup and the ability to commit to a consistent 40-hour weekly schedule.
Karat is seeking talented New Zealand-based engineers ready to commit to a dedicated, availability-based contract through October 2026.
This is a fixed-term engagement with a structured weekly availability commitment through end of October. You will hold a consistent block of hours each week during which you are available to conduct interviews, including short-notice requests. Availability outside of standard business hours and on weekends is welcome.
This is a strong fit if you are between full-time positions, on a planned leave from your current role, or looking for consistent, meaningful contract work over a defined period.
Upon contract conclusion, contractors may opt into Karat's standard Interview Engineer program, which operates on a per-interview compensation model.
