Job Description
Location: Alderton Hall Ln, Loughton, IG10 3HE Hours: Monday - Fridays 7:15am - 8:45am & 2:30pm - 6:00pm Pay: Up to £13.80 per hour Contract: Term time
Make a difference. Lead the fun. Love your job.
Do you love working with children and want to turn your energy and leadership skills into something truly meaningful? At Junior Adventures Group (JAG), we’re looking for passionate people to lead our Breakfast & After School Clubs (and Holiday Clubs too!) where play, creativity, and connection come together.
As a Childcare Setting Manager, you’ll be at the heart of one of our children’s activity clubs, creating safe, exciting, and enriching experiences for children aged 4–11. You’ll lead a small team, build strong relationships with schools and families, and deliver a mix of sports, arts, games, and structured play every single day!
This could be a great first step into management.
This role is split shift, meaning you’ll work mornings and afternoons, with a break in between (great for studying, hobbies, family, or even a nap!). You’ll also have the opportunity to increase your hours during Holiday Club seasons and Lunchtime Cover.
What you’ll do day-to-day:
Greet children each morning and afternoon with fun and energy, kickstarting the day with games, sports, and positive vibes.
Lead exciting after-school activities like arts & crafts, team challenges, drama, multi-sports, and structured play.
Plan engaging sessions that are age-appropriate, inclusive, and (most importantly) fun!
Manage and motivate your team to deliver brilliant care and play experiences.
Communicate confidently with parents, your team, the host school, and central operations.
Ensure health & safety, safeguarding, and company procedures are followed with confidence and care.
What’s in it for you?
No weekend work – hooray!
Paid training and regular CPD opportunities.
Discounts for your own little ones on wraparound care & holiday clubs.
24/7 wellbeing and mental health support through Health Assured.
Recommend-a-friend rewards.
Join a fun, friendly team with a shared passion for making a difference!
What we’re looking for:
You may have worked as a Sports Coach, Teaching Assistant (TA), Playworker, Drama/Dance Instructor, NCS Leader, Scout Leader, Nursery Manager, SEN Support, Dinner Lady, Student, or even as a parent wanting a new career in childcare.
We’re looking for:
Natural leaders who are confident, caring, and creative.
Great communicators who love building relationships.
Organised planners who can manage teams and activities.
People who genuinely love working with children.
Safeguarding
This role requires compliance with the Keeping Children Safe in Education policy and is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974. You must provide two references, one from your most recent employer and the other from a childcare setting (if applicable). We will conduct a DBS check on your behalf, so please prepare the correct documentation. You must meet these requirements to be eligible for the hiring process.

Junior Adventures Group UK is proud to be the leading provider of before, after-school activity clubs, PE lessons and holiday programmes in the UK, with passionate teams who live and breathe our mission: to build brighter futures for children. For over 30 years, we’ve been delivering exceptional experiences for children in over 1,000 settings across the UK, Australia, New Zealand and Ireland. Our global experience has allowed us to create an approach to child-led care that parents and schools trust - and children love.
JAG arrived in the UK from Australia in 2019, bringing with it its exceptional, globally-developed educational frameworks. JAG UK was created in February of that year and immediately built on these strong foundations by acquiring two of the UK’s leading out-of-school club providers – Fit For Sport and Energy Kidz – which in 2023 officially merged into JAG. The result is one purpose-driven, best-of-all-worlds organisation – Junior Adventures Group – that brings together the rich history, passion and expertise of three world-class childcare brands, delivering the same outstanding play and activity programmes in support of schools, leisure partners, parents and children – just under a new name.
We believe in playing our part in helping children become great, well-rounded people, and we’re committed to building brighter futures for each and every child. By shaping our experiences and programmes around them, we create fun, inclusive activities that develop their creativity, promote learning, facilitate diversity and enhance their wellbeing and happiness. By engaging every child through our programmes to realise their potential, we prepare them with the skills and knowledge they will need to navigate a world yet to be imagined.
