Front-End Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Front-End Engineer with deep expertise in building modern, data-driven web applications to join our growing team. This key role will be focused on enhancing the payments intelligence and orchestration platforms.

In this role, you will design and develop scalable, high-performance frontend experiences that empower customers to analyze, optimize, and manage their payment performance through intuitive dashboards, intelligent insights, and advanced data visualization capabilities. You will work closely with product managers, designers, backend engineers, and data teams to create seamless user experiences that transform complex payment and analytics data into actionable business intelligence.

The ideal candidate combines strong React engineering skills with a passion for analytics, UI/UX excellence, and emerging AI technologies. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced, agile environment, collaborating across teams, and contributing to both frontend architecture and overall product innovation.

Position Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain our React-based frontend application for the Congrify payment intelligence platform.

• Develop and evolve a scalable, high-performance frontend architecture that supports new features, growth, and future integrations.

• Collaborate closely with product, design, and backend engineers to deliver cohesive, data-rich user experiences.

• Work on tasks and user stories within an agile framework, participating in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.

• Integrate AI functionalities into the frontend to deliver intelligent insights, recommendations, and automated user interactions.

• Build dynamic dashboards and data visualization flows that empower users to explore and analyze their payment performance.

• Manage and optimize data visualization libraries (e.g., Recharts, D3.js) for responsiveness, clarity, and performance.

• Ensure the frontend meets the highest security standards, safeguarding user data and maintaining platform integrity.

• Collaborate with backend engineers to define, build, and integrate well-structured APIs that seamlessly connect frontend and backend systems.

• Work across the AWS ecosystem (Cognito, API Gateway, Lambda, S3, CloudFront, etc.) for authentication, hosting, and deployment.

• Write, test, and maintain clean, well-documented, and reliable code, following best practices and participating in peer code reviews.

• Contribute to backend logic and integrations when needed to ensure smooth data flow and overall product performance.

• Maintain and expand technical documentation, including architecture designs, API specs, and user guides.

• Stay current with modern frontend technologies, AI innovations, and best practices to continuously enhance the product and user experience.

Position Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Frontend Developer, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality, scalable web applications with a focus on building analytics, data visualization, or dashboard interfaces.

• Strong expertise in React and related technologies (e.g., Redux, Hooks).

• Experience collaborating with backend engineers to design APIs and ensure smooth communication between frontend and backend systems.

• Familiarity with AWS Cognito for user authentication and management.

• Solid understanding of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), and modern frontend build pipelines.

• Strong grasp of UI/UX principles with a focus on building user-friendly, intuitive interfaces.

• Ability to work independently while maintaining effective communication and collaboration with remote team members.

• Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for problem-solving and innovation.

• Previous experience working in a startup environment.

Based in Munich (preferably) or elsewhere in Germany – this is a remote-friendly position, offering flexibility to work fully remotely or from our Munich location as desired. We also are looking for candidates in Italy (Remote).
