The Patient Care Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for workers' compensation pharmacy patients, handling inbound and outbound communications. The role focuses on resolving patient inquiries, documenting interactions, and ensuring a seamless experience through proactive problem-solving.

Requirements

Candidates must have over 3 years of customer service experience and be bilingual in English and Spanish. Strong communication skills and the ability to work a specific full-time schedule, including rotating Saturdays, are required.

Full job description

The Patient Care Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for IWP patients, building trusted relationships and supporting individuals who use our workers’ compensation pharmacy services. Reporting to the Manager of Patient Experience, this role partners closely with both patients and pharmacy staff to ensure a seamless, supportive experience. 

 

What You’ll Do 

  • Serve as the first point of contact for patients through a combination of inbound and outbound calls  
  • Respond promptly and professionally to patient inquiries, concerns, and requests  
  • Resolve customer issues and complaints using effective communication and proactive problem-solving skills  
  • Deliver exceptional customer service on every interaction, ensuring appropriate follow‑up when needed  
  • Accurately document patient interactions and account details in a timely manner  
  • Adhere to Quality Assurance standards to consistently meet performance expectations  
  • Functions as the main patient contact for all claim-related communications and updates 
  • Stay current on policies, procedures, and industry or organizational changes, and communicate updates confidently 

 

What You’ll Need to Succeed 

  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, time management, and attention‑to‑detail skills  
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills  
  • Ability to efficiently and accurately convey information to patients and peers  
  • Comfort working in a fast paced, team‑oriented environment with frequent multitasking  
  • Commitment to maintaining high-quality, accurate documentation  
  • Adaptability to changing priorities and workload demands   
  • Ability to work a full-time schedule: 
    • Monday: 12:00 pm - 8:30 pm
    • Tuesday: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm 
    • Wednesday: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm  
    • Thursday: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm  
    • Friday: 11:00 am - 7:30 pm 
    • Rotating Saturdays 8:00 am - 12:00 pm once fully trained 
  • 3+ years of customer service experience (account management, call center, hospitality, or other client facing rolls) 
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (required)
