Company: Infracon Group of Companies
Location: Kamloops, BC
Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Wage Range: $25.00 – $27.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications

Reports To: Fleet Manager

About the Role

We are looking for a reliable, organized, and motivated Parts Runner / Fleet Support to join our team. This position plays a key role in supporting our fleet maintenance operations by ensuring technicians receive the parts and supplies they need to keep equipment running efficiently.

In this role, you will assist the shop and fleet team by picking up and delivering parts, coordinating with vendors, maintaining inventory, supporting basic fleet documentation, and helping keep the shop organized. You’ll work closely with mechanics, the Fleet Coordinator, and project teams to make sure repairs and maintenance activities stay on schedule.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys being on the move, solving problems, and supporting fast paced operations. You’ll need strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to stay organized while handling multiple requests throughout the day. A positive attitude, willingness to help wherever needed, and commitment to follow‑through are essential.

If you like keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes, supporting technicians, and contributing to a well organized fleet program, this role may be a great fit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pick up and deliver parts, tools, and supplies to shops and job sites, ensuring timely support for maintenance activities.
  • Verify that parts received are correct, complete, and match purchase orders or mechanic requests.
  • Assist with organizing and maintaining parts inventory, storage areas, and shop stock levels.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to source required parts and confirm availability, pricing, and pickup timelines.
  • Support mechanics and the Fleet department with day‑to‑day operational needs, including parts staging and shop organization.
  • Maintain accurate records of parts pickups, deliveries, and vendor interactions.
  • Perform basic vehicle inspections and keep the company vehicle clean, organized, and stocked with required equipment.
  • Assist with miscellaneous shop duties such as organizing tools, cleaning work areas, and supporting equipment mobilization.
  • Communicate proactively with mechanics, the Fleet Coordinator, and vendors regarding part status, delays, or issues.
  • Support basic fleet documentation such as logging part numbers, updating inventory sheets, or assisting with repair records.
  • Respond quickly to urgent part requests to help minimize equipment downtime.
  • Follow safe driving practices, shop safety protocols, and proper handling of parts, tools, and materials.

What You Bring

  • Consistent follow through, punctuality, and dependability in day-to-day fleet support tasks.
  • Ability to keep parts, tools, inventory areas, and delivery records organized and easy to navigate.
  • Careful verification of part numbers, quantities, and vendor pickups to prevent delays or errors.
  • Professional communication with mechanics, the Fleet Coordinator, vendors, and field teams.
  • Comfort coordinating pickups, confirming availability, and handling basic vendor follow up.
  • Staying organized and responsive when multiple part requests or priorities come in at once.
  • Practical understanding of tools, parts, or equipment is an asset (not required).
  • Ability to plan routes, prioritize pickups, and support shop timelines efficiently.
  • Taking initiative to resolve small issues, locate parts, or support mechanics without waiting for direction.
  • Safe driving habits and confidence navigating between shops, vendors, and job sites.
  • Willingness to help wherever needed in the shop, yard, or fleet operations.
  • Maintaining professionalism and composure when priorities shift or urgent requests come in.

Qualifications

  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence with a clean driver’s abstract.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to support multiple pickups and deliveries.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and respond quickly in a fast‑paced maintenance environment.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude or experience in heavy equipment, trucking, automotive, or shop environments is an asset.
  • Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs and working in shop/yard environments.
  • Strong communication skills and a positive, team‑oriented attitude when working with mechanics, vendors, and fleet staff.
  • Basic computer skills (email, inventory sheets, simple data entry) are an asset.
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada.

Working Conditions

  • Primarily field‑based role involving regular travel between shops, vendors, and job sites.
  • Frequent driving within Kamloops and surrounding areas to pick up and deliver parts and supplies.
  • Regular work in shop and yard settings, including exposure to equipment, tools, and active maintenance areas.
  • Role involves lifting parts and materials (up to 50 lbs), loading/unloading items, and moving between work areas.
  • Work in a fast paced environment with shifting priorities and time‑sensitive requests from mechanics and fleet staff.
  • Occasional outdoor work and travel in varying weather conditions.
  • May require occasional flexibility outside regular business hours to support urgent part pickups or equipment needs.
  • Work around active equipment and shop operations, requiring adherence to safety protocols and PPE requirements.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Wage range of $25.00 – $27.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
  • Full-time, permanent employment
  • Competitive benefits package, where applicable
  • Group retirement savings plan eligibility
  • Opportunity to contribute to a growing organization with diverse construction, industrial, and resource-sector operations

What Success Looks Like

  • Parts, tools, and supplies are picked up and delivered promptly, helping mechanics complete repairs without delays.
  • Parts received are correct, complete, and verified against requests or purchase orders.
  • Shop and yard storage areas remain clean, organized, and easy for mechanics to navigate.
  • Mechanics, the Fleet Coordinator, and vendors receive timely updates on part status, delays, or urgent needs.
  • Daily fleet and shop support tasks are completed consistently, with strong follow through and minimal supervision.
  • Pickup logs, delivery notes, and basic documentation are accurate and up to date.
  • Company vehicles are driven safely, kept clean, and maintained in good working condition.
  • Mechanics and fleet staff feel supported, knowing parts and supplies will be handled efficiently and professionally.

Why Join Us

  • Gain practical experience supporting fleet, equipment, and maintenance operations.
  • Enjoy a role that keeps you moving, between shops, vendors, and job sites with no two days the same.
  • Work closely with mechanics, the Fleet Coordinator, and operations teams in a supportive, collaborative setting.
  • Build experience in parts handling, vendor coordination, shop operations, and fleet support.
  • Play a key role in keeping equipment work ready and helping reduce downtime across active projects.
  • Opportunity to grow into expanded fleet support responsibilities as skills develop and operational needs evolve.
