The Medical Assistant provides clinical support by preparing patients for examinations, collecting vital signs, and assisting providers with minor surgeries and tests. They are also responsible for maintaining medical supplies, processing laboratory samples, and updating electronic medical records.
Candidates must have a high school diploma, graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program, and a current BLS certification. Certification as a Medical Assistant is preferred.

At IHC, a Federally Qualified Health Center, we specialize in integrated care which means having access to essential services to meet the needs of patients we serve in the community. With ten healthcare centers, eight Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) nutrition program locations, a Mobile Health Unit, and in-house Pharmacy services (select locations), we offer primary medical, dental, and behavioral healthcare services to community-based patient populations throughout Indiana that are diverse in age, educational background, and income level.
IHC Owen County in Spencer is now recruiting for a Medical Assistant (MA) to join their team. The MA contributes to IHC’s mission and goals of client satisfaction, quality of care, cost competitiveness, and productivity by performing basic preparation and examination of the patient, maintenance of supplies in the examination areas, as well as maintenance of instruments and equipment. Recent graduates, experienced MAs, and Certified MAs are encouraged to apply!
