ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a Research Scientist / Senior Research Associate to join our Discovery team. The successful candidate will contribute to antibody discovery through immunoassay and cell biology research, working as part of a fast-paced, collaborative team leveraging a cutting-edge technology platform.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan and execute objective-driven strategies and immunoassays focused on the pharmacological and biochemical characterization of antibodies using flow cytometry/FACS, ELISA, and relevant cell-based functional assays.
- Design, develop, optimize, troubleshoot, and establish new assays and/or workflows, as needed, to support the expanded characterization of antibodies.
- Maintain mammalian cell cultures under aseptic conditions to support assay development, validation, and antibody characterization workflows.
- Plan and coordinate weekly experimental activities and schedules.
- Maintain accurate, detailed, and up-to-date records of protocols, laboratory work, experimental data, and inventory in electronic laboratory records.
- Compile experimental results and analyze data in a timely manner.
- Contribute to the overall safety, operations, and organization of the laboratory.
- Actively participate in team meetings and present experimental findings, updates, and data as required
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- PhD in Biology or a related field, or a BSc/MSc in Biology or a related field with a minimum of 4 years of relevant industry or research experience.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture for the functional characterization of antibodies, including assays such as cytotoxicity, proliferation, immune marker profiling, and other relevant cell-based assays, with the ability to apply literature-supported, scientifically driven rationale.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with immunoassay-based screening using flow cytometry/FACS (required) and ELISA, with a strong emphasis on flow cytometry/FACS.
- Ability to learn quickly and work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Well-organized, disciplined, and detail-oriented, with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and explore new techniques and scientific areas.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and GraphPad Prism, with the ability to compile, analyze, and interpret large datasets.
