As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Homestead Health Center, you will provide Person Centered Care and support to residents in our long-term care facility. You will assist with daily living activities, promote resident independence, and contribute to a caring and safe environment. Your compassionate approach and dedication to quality care will make a significant impact on the lives of our residents.
Key Responsibilities
Provide personal care assistance with daily activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, oral care, feeding etc.
Monitor, observe and report changes in residents’ conditions to the Charge Nurse or Director of Nursing, ensuring timely intervention and care adjustments
Assist residents with mobility, including transfers and ambulation, to enhance their physical well-being
Maintain clear and respectful communication with residents, their families, and team members, fostering a positive and supportive environment
Accurately document care provided and any changes in residents' conditions in compliance with facility policies and procedures
Ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable environment by following infection control protocols and maintaining proper hygiene standards
Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, engaging them in conversation and encouraging participation in Activities to promote mental well-being
Ensure residents are presented with opportunity to participate in the spiritual offerings of their choosing, when they choose it
Work collaboratively with nursing and support staff to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for all residents
Completes assigned monthly automated learning in accordance with Homestead Policy
Work Environment
This position operates within a healthcare facility and requires frequent standing, walking, and hands-on resident care. This position involves potential exposure to infectious diseases and other health-related hazards.QualificationsRequired Qualifications:
Current CNA certification in the state of Kansas
A compassionate, patient-centered approach to providing care
Basic understanding of medical terminology and resident care practices
Ability to operate lifts and assist residents, stand for extended periods, push/pull or lift up to 50 pounds, and perform physical tasks associated with patient care
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Attention to detail and adherence to care protocols
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience working in a long-term care or healthcare setting preferred, but not required
Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation using electronic health systems
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality
