Requires a high school diploma or GED and preferably two years of manufacturing experience. Must possess strong leadership skills, basic mathematical ability, and the physical capacity to lift up to 50 pounds.

Description

SUMMARY: Coordinates and assist with activities of associates engaged in maintaining and

operating all equipment by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Train and assist associates on performing preventive maintenance assignments.

2. Be able to perform machine set up, operate machinery in a safe manner, and ensure

equipment safety features are in place and functioning properly.

3. Make sure scrap is recorded accurately and disposed of daily and Ensure rework is

completed at end of day.

4. Fill in for associates when necessary.

5. Understand and be able to operate and assist individual process stations on all equipment.

6. Perform lock-out and tag-out (LOTO) procedures for clearing all equipment faults and

restoring machine energy in accordance with established LOTO procedures.

7. Inform Team Leader or Production Manager of any and all quality/ safety issues.

8. Accurate completion of paperwork and data entry.

9. Maintain 5S3D, Kaizen and all elements of SQDCME.

10. Inspects and measures parts and products to verify conformance to specifications.

11. Train and assist all associates on adjusting machines and equipment to repair products which fail

to meet standards. Train associates on safety related processes.

12. Analyzes and provide inputs to resolves work problems or assists associates in solving work

problems.

13. Follows lead operators and team leader’s direction during emergencies. Understands and

follows the response procedures for all types of emergency events.

14. Assist on monitoring and maintaining all TPM Goals (Safety, Scrap, Customer Defects,

In-Process Defects and Downtime Frequency).

15. Supports and participates in continual improvement projects for Environmental, Health & Safety

(EHS).

1. Must be able to do maintenance on the equipment in their specific work areas. As well as

make necessary adjustments to the machines to produce quality parts.

2. Must be able to do basic TPM activities for the equipment in their work area.

3. Operate heavy equipment including cranes and forklifts.

4. Move new material, waste, and nonconforming product on level ground, stairs, and ladders.

Requirements

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each

essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill,

and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and two years manufacturing experience

(preferred experience with Heartland Automotive).

Competencies

Leadership and decision-making skills

Strong interpersonal skills and good verbal and written communication skills

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Office

Word and Microsoft Outlook.

Knowledge of Pareto Charts.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and analyze information. Ability to write reports and work instructions. Ability to

effectively present information and respond to questions.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where

only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written,

oral, diagram, or schedule form

Additional Job Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain a positive attitude and promote teamwork.

Health and Safety Conditions:

Know all potential work and environmental hazards.

PPE Requirements: Safety glasses and any other required PPE in accordance with the SWI for the

jobs you may be doing.

move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up 50 pounds or more. Specific vision

abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth

perception and ability to adjust focus
