The Primary Care Centre Assistant will perform a dual role of driving clinicians to patient homes and providing reception support at treatment centers. Responsibilities include managing medical stock, maintaining vehicle roadworthiness, and providing non-clinical support to patients and clinicians.
Candidates must hold a full UK driving license with no more than 6 penalty points and possess strong administrative and interpersonal skills. The role requires flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and overnights, and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks.

Our shift patterns vary and include weekday evenings, weekends, and a commitment to work some overnight sessions. Please note that shift patterns and rota flexibility can be discussed at the application stage.
About the role:
As an Primary Care Centre Assistant (PCCA), you will be required to undertake a dual role of driving and reception work to support the efficient operation of Integrated Urgent Care services across the Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin locality.
We operate a 24/7, 365 days a year service, on a rolling 4-week rota pattern to be agreed following a successful interview, providing care to our service users. The role will involve non-clinical support to clinicians and patients who use the NHS 111 and GP Out of Hours service.
A degree of flexibility will be required, and there may be the occasional opportunity to work outside of your contracted hours to facilitate the smooth operational running of the service.
Our Urgent Care service operates across Shropshire, with operational bases in Telford, Shrewsbury, Bridgnorth, Ludlow and Whitchurch. If successful your rota may include a variety of the below hours:

The Primary Care Centre Assistant role is varied and requires a flexible and resilient approach. You will be expected to undertake a broad range of duties, including periods of prolonged sitting (for example, at a reception desk or in a vehicle), alongside more physically demanding tasks such as moving and carrying emergency equipment and delivering CPR at floor level when required.
As part of the role, you must be comfortable working in both clinical and mobile environments, responding to the needs of the service as they arise.
Please note that all successful candidates will be required to undertake and pass a driver’s medical in line with role requirements.
