Help Build Quality That Matters

At Healthcare Financial, Inc. (HFI), we're relentless advocates for individuals, their families, and our communities. Our technology solutions support critical healthcare and government programs that help people access the benefits they need. We're looking for an IT QA Specialist who is passionate about quality, enjoys solving complex technical challenges, and takes pride in ensuring software performs as expected before it reaches production.

If you thrive in a collaborative environment where your work directly impacts business operations and customer experience, we'd like to hear from you.

What You'll Do

As an IT QA Specialist, you'll play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and integrity of our applications, system integrations, and data. Working alongside developers, business analysts, and project teams, you'll identify issues early, validate solutions, and help deliver high-quality software releases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute comprehensive manual and automated test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, database, negative, and user acceptance testing.
  • Validate software functionality, data accuracy, and system performance against business requirements.
  • Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects through resolution.
  • Investigate application issues, analyze logs, configurations, and database results to determine root causes.
  • Verify defect fixes and ensure issues are resolved before production deployment.
  • Collaborate with developers, project managers, and business stakeholders throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Participate in requirements and design reviews to identify quality risks early in the development process.
  • Support software releases and production deployments through testing and validation activities.
  • Develop and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and views to support testing and data validation.
  • Assist with production support, system maintenance, and application enhancements.
  • Continuously improve testing processes, automation, and quality standards.
  • Stay current on emerging QA tools, methodologies, and industry best practices.

What You Bring

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field—or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3–5 years of software quality assurance or software testing experience.
  • Experience performing both manual and automated software testing.
  • Strong SQL skills with experience validating database-driven applications.
  • Experience with defect tracking and test management tools.
  • Working knowledge of Java or Python.
  • Experience working in Linux and Microsoft Windows environments.
  • Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile development practices.
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks and reusable test automation.
  • Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
  • Experience supporting healthcare or other highly regulated industries.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and release management processes.
  • Exposure to production support, application remediation, or software development.
  • Experience testing APIs, system integrations, and ETL/data workflows.
