Plumber Foreman

Job Summary:
Greenwood Heating and Home Services is looking for a Plumber Foreman to join our team. Journeyman License (PL02 or higher) is required. We are looking for someone who believes in taking care of customers and fellow employees. We are looking for a driven and open minded individual who is looking to do more than field work: someone who enjoys training the future plumbers of the world, problem solving and navigating challenging situations, and educating customers on their home's plumbing systems.
Wage / Hours:
This position is a full-time, non-exempt hourly position. Our business hours are 7am-6pm. Working hours may exceed 8 hours a day and may exceed 40 hours per week during busier times of the year. Compensation plan can be discussed during interview. Quarterly bonus plan plus hourly.
Location:
This position is performed on the road in the greater Seattle area. Our service range is: North: Everett Area, South: Federal Way Area, East: North Bend.
We have two locations, one in Everett and one in Tukwila. Role is available at either location, but foreman must be able to travel to other location on an occasional basis.
Job Duties / Responsibilities:
· Gather information and data about equipment being installed, noting levels and readings of different components on equipment to ensure proper operation.
· Work with office staff to pick up correct material and equipment from one of our shops to match what was purchased by customer. Install hot water tanks, tankless water heaters, boiler systems, and provide plumbing services.
· Engage in client discussions professionally and politely to uncover their needs and works with their team leaders to address issues if beyond knowledge base.
Job Requirements / Skills:
· Understanding and follow through in Greenwood’s Core Values and Mission Statement.
· Confident and professional communication skills via phone and face to face interaction with homeowners and team members.
· Experience with and able to navigate mobile devices (Apple products) with the ability to learn new software.
· Attention to detail when debriefing office or homeowner about your findings in the field.
· Service oriented and ability to interact with all customer service scenarios (positive and negative). Ability to empathize and work through challenging problem-solving situations.
The Plumbing Supervisor will act as a key leader in the plumbing department, focusing on field supervision while supporting the Plumbing Manager in daily operations. This role is essential for maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency on-site while handling smaller tasks to free up the Plumbing Manager for strategic priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Field Supervision
- Oversee technicians on job sites, ensuring work is completed efficiently, safely, and to company standards.
- Perform quality control inspections to confirm adherence to plumbing codes and best practices.
- Provide on-the-spot troubleshooting and guidance for complex or urgent issues.
- Act as a mentor for technicians, offering field training and skill development as needed.
Task Management
- Handle smaller administrative and operational tasks, such as reviewing work orders, updating schedules, and preparing field reports.
- Respond to customer questions or concerns during active jobs to enhance satisfaction and address issues promptly.
- Provide status updates to the Plumbing Manager and recommend solutions for recurring challenges.
Collaboration and Leadership
- Work closely with the HVAC and electrical teams on multi-service projects to ensure coordination and timely completion.
- Promote a culture of safety, professionalism, and accountability in the field.
- Lead by example, fostering teamwork and maintaining high morale among field staff.
Additional tasks to be added as position and department grow.
Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
· Plumbing license required, PL01 or PL02
Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
· Must be able to be on your feet / knees for extended periods of time.
· Must be able to work in crawl spaces and attics for periods of time.
-Must be able to work on ladders and drive a company vehicle.
