The Closing Technician performs essential manufacturing tasks including removing infusion bags, repairing laminate defects, and preparing shells for closure. They are responsible for applying glue to flanges and webs while operating cranes and heavy machinery safely.
Requirements
Candidates must be able to lift up to 40 lbs, stand for extended periods, and operate various hand and power tools. Previous manufacturing experience or experience with wind turbine blades and composites is desired.

Roles and Responsibilities
Perform closing tasks following work instructions
Wear all personal protective equipment and follow all health and safety instructions regarding chemical usage
Remove infusion bag from shells using crane
Transport shells from one mold to closing area using crane
Repair, cut and grind all laminate defects
Prepare shells for closure – vacuum all debris in shells, side grind flange area, apply brackets, mark up all areas
When shells are repaired and prepped, apply glue to flanges and web and crane operator lifts mold to close
After mould has been closed, remove root plate and fasten root ring on the root of the finished mould. Fasten with stay bolts.
Required Qualifications
Ability to lift of carry objects or materials up to 40 lbs.
Ability to push/pull heavy objects.
Ability to stand for extended periods on concrete floors.
Ability to work with hands for an extended period.
Ability to operate basic hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery.
Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
Requires wearing of respirator.

High School Diploma/GED or related experience
Previous Manufacturing experience
Previous experience working with wind turbine blades or composites
Position Shift: Mon-Fri 2pm-10:30pm
