Job summary
Under general supervision of the Corporate Marketing Coordinator, the Marketing Assistant serves in developing end-to-end integrated marketing campaigns to bring awareness and encourage usage of mortgage products to prospective members. Specializing in graphic design, using skills, experience and creativity to create marketing materials for print, web, email, etc., at the direction of the Corporate Marketing Coordinator.
Essential job functions
- Assists with market research to discover consumer and borrower’s needs, habits, and trends.
- Supports Corporate Marketing Coordinator and other staff in developing operational marketing plans.
- Uses creativity and strategic thinking to develop ideas for innovative marketing campaigns to attract new borrowers.
- Creates marketing materials for print, web, email, social media, CRM, etc. as needed using industry standard software and practices.
- Helps to maintain company website including adding/deleting new pages as needed, working to maintain site to the highest standards
- Collaborates with Product Development on the marketing of promotional pricing for loan products.
- Ensure that all marketing material adheres to compliance guidelines.
- Continuously strives to improve and implement marketing processes to increase efficiencies for the department.
- Follows policies and procedures; completes tasks correctly and on time; supports the company’s goals and values.
- Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
Minimum requirements
- High School or GED required, design degree preferred, mortgage marketing preferred. Demonstration of design skills required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong understanding of industry-standard Marketing techniques.
- Working knowledge of standard Marketing delivery channels, such as print, online, digital, social media and interactive.
- Working knowledge of website and social media management.
- Ability to write clear and effective marketing copy.
- Standard office practices and procedures.
- Computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat Pro, etc. a must)
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to adapt to new conditions, assignments, and deadlines.
Compensation Disclosure
This is a non-exempt, hourly position. The pay range for this role is $20.00 to $27.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Overtime is paid in accordance with California state and federal labor laws. Additional compensation, such as bonuses or incentive pay, may be available based on performance and business needs.
At-Will Employment
This position is classified as at-will employment in accordance with California law. Employment may be terminated by either the employer or employee at any time, with or without cause or notice, subject to applicable law.
Work Location
This position is primarily based in our office located at 1275 Lincoln Avenue, Suite 7, San Jose, CA. Regular in-office attendance is required during standard business hours.
