Plans and executes the installation, maintenance, and modification of site HVAC and mechanical systems. Responsible for troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance to ensure reliability and minimize downtime in a manufacturing environment.
Requires a high school diploma, Universal EPA Certification, and at least 5 years of commercial HVAC experience. Proficiency in troubleshooting control circuits and metal working/ductwork fabrication is essential.
1.Repairs, maintains, and troubleshoots HVAC and mechanical system equipment used in the manufacturing process.
2. Checks, and inspects HVAC mechanical equipment periodically to determine the need to repair or conduct preventative maintenance.
3. Carries out preventive maintenance on HVAC and mechanical equipment and/or systems as required by Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
4. Diagnose equipment failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to improve reliability and minimize downtime.
5. Cleans and organizes workplace to ensure both operating and safety conditions.
6. Documents all work performed; complies with acceptable current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) standards.
7. Uses critical thinking skills to determine possible causes of equipment failures.
8. Responsible for developing and implementing improvements for efficiency, safety, and preventative maintenance. Assists engineers, and supervision with capital improvement projects, including acquisition, installation, startup and commissioning, rebuilding and upgrading of HVAC and mechanical systems.
9. Performs additional facility maintenance duties as directed, including but not limited to framing, drywall, electrical, plumbing, concrete, painting, landscaping, snow removal, etc.
10. Must possess a safety-first culture and safely operate machinery and equipment to perform essential duties. These may include ladders, man-lifts, forklifts, skid steers, power tools, welders, grinders, etc.
11. Preplans work to mitigate roadblocks and plans safety into every task.
12. Mentors and coaches co-workers on performing tasks related to HVAC and mechanical systems.
