The Accounting Supervisor manages core accounting functions including financial reporting, general ledger, and month-end close with a focus on trade-specific workflows like job costing and WIP tracking. The role also oversees day-to-day AP/AR activity and supports ERP optimization initiatives.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and at least 4 years of hands-on accounting experience. Candidates must have a strong understanding of GAAP and experience with job costing and service/project billing, preferably in field services or construction.

Fortis Fire & Safety is seeking a skilled Accounting Supervisor to support our core accounting functions. This role is responsible for accurate financial reporting, general ledger management, reconciliations, and month-end close, with a strong focus on the accounting workflows specific to the trade, including project and service billing, work-in-progress tracking, and job costing.
The Accounting Supervisor plays a key role in ensuring the integrity of financial data, strengthening internal controls, and supporting corporate accounting and operations. This position oversees day-to-day billing, banking, and AP/AR activity while partnering on reporting, analysis, and close. The ideal candidate brings solid technical accounting skills, a disciplined and detail-oriented approach, and the ability to analyze financial data to support informed business decisions. This position also supports key initiatives such as ERP optimization (e.g., Q360) and ongoing process improvement across the organization. Some general office and administrative support may be required as business needs arise.
This pay range reflects the compensation rate Fortis Fire & Safety reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors such as experience and skillset. This role may require extended periods of sitting or standing, movement around the office or job site, and operation of standard equipment. Physical activities can include reaching, bending, kneeling, climbing, and lifting up to 75 lbs. Field positions may involve heavy lifting, working in varying climates (including outdoor conditions), construction or low-voltage environments, and exposure to dust, noise, or confined spaces. Personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required. Some roles may require travel.
