Job DetailsJob Location: Pine City Building Center - Pine City, MN 55063Position Type: Full TimeSummary: This position will oversee the effective management of yard inventory and ensure a outstanding customer experience at the building center. This position will receive and maintain inventory and yard equipment and assist customers in the yard and behind the counter. The role will also be the point person to build loads for delivery to customer job sites. This key position will ensure sales transactions and deliveries are processed correctly and is critical to building a first-class customer experience. This position may also support other parts of the Federated organization during the slow season and may include propane delivery, sales support or other duties as arranged.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Completes daily operations task lists for yard and office. Manage yard operations while supporting front counter and sale team.
Receiving Inventory - Counts, sorts, or weighs incoming articles to verify receipt of items on requisition or invoices. Examines new stock to verify conformance to specifications.
Organizes and stores articles in bins, on floor, or on shelves, according to identifying information such as style, size, or type of material.
Helps locate and load customer orders and cuts stock to size to fill order.
Prepares periodic, special, or perpetual inventory of stock.
Requisitions articles to fill incoming orders and fills orders or issues supplies from stock.
Compiles reports on use of stock handling equipment, adjustments of inventory counts and stock records, spoilage of or damage to stock, location changes, and refusal of shipments.
Marks identifying codes, figures, or letters on articles and makes adjustments or repairs to articles carried in stock.
Determines methods of storage, identification, and stock location, considering temperature, humidity, height and weight limits, turnover, floor loading capacities, and required space.
Moves or transports material or supplies to other areas and departments using a commercial motor vehicle/boom truck, forklift, hand lift and manually.
Maintains inventory and other stock records.
Other duties as assigned.
QualificationsExperience and Qualifications
Must be 18 years or older & requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
Requires the ability to count, measure and calculate lumber and product for customer orders and lumber sizing.
Prefer: 1-3 years of experience in retail, payment processing or related area.
Prefer: Lumber, home repair and or construction knowledge needed to assist and load customers
Prefer: 1-3 years of experience using Word and Excel software, Internet.
Delivery – Current CDL OR ability to obtain a CDL and Ability to drive company vehicle for delivery.
Forklift – Need to possess or able to complete successfully forklift certifications
Boom Truck Operation – Able to operate Boom Truck - previous boom truck operating experience desired.
Propane – Prefer previous experience or ability to fill customer propane tanks.
Slow Season - Propane Delivery - In addition to the above, if the employee supports propane during slow season applicant must be able to maintain CDL License with Hazmat, Tanker and Air Brakes Endorsements.
Slow Season – Sales Support - In addition to the above if the employee supports sales/marketing during slow season may support sales activities and marketing, learning quote and ordering systems for bid development.

Compensation
The wage range for this position is set at $20 - $26 / hour. The actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills, certifications and based on slow season role within the organization.
