Responsibilities

The operator monitors the quality and accuracy of on-air products for multiple television and radio stations. Responsibilities include troubleshooting automation playlists and switching live news and sports programming.

Requirements

Candidates should have strong computer skills, extreme attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. Previous master control experience is preferred but not required.

Full job description

TITLE: Television Master Control Operator 

FLSA: Full time – non-exempt

BASIC FUNCTION:   The TV Master Control Operator is responsible for monitoring the quality and accuracy of our on-air product, troubleshooting equipment malfunctions and preparing programming for future playback. Shifts could include overnights, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Should be flexible with availability.

RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Monitoring and troubleshooting automation playlists for up to seven television & two radio stations.
  • Maintain relationships with clients.
  • Switching live news and sports programming.
  • Maintaining transmitter logs.
  • Other duties as needed.

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Strong computer knowledge.
  • Extreme attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision.
  • Reliable with good communication skills.
  • Strong work history.
  • Previous master control experience is a plus but not required.

*Shifts could include overnights, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Should be flexible with availability.
