Perform various laboratory tests and procedures on patient specimens to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field and two years of experience as a Medical Technologist. Must hold certification from agencies such as ASCP, AMT, NCA, or ABB.
TITLE: Medical Technologist II – Microbiology (multiple openings)
Duties: Perform various laboratory tests and procedures while adhering to standard operating procedures on patient specimens to assist in the diagnosis, study and treatment, or prevention of disease. Uphold the values of the organization including providing and demonstrating exemplary customer service skills throughout the pre-analytical, analytical and post analytical processes. May perform tests including but not limited to standardized and semi-routine biological, chemical, hematological, immunological, immunohematological, microbiological, and serological tests in a research or clinical laboratory. Perform preventive maintenance on laboratory instruments and calibrate equipment and instruments as required. Operate laboratory equipment and troubleshoot equipment and instrument malfunctions. May serve as key operator for implementation of new equipment and procedures.
SHIFT: This position is on a nightshift schedule.
SALARY: $41.28/year
LOCATION: Emory Healthcare, Inc., 1364 Clifton Rd. N.E., Atlanta, GA 30322
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or related field of study and two (2) years of experience as a Medical Technologist or related role where required experience gained
