The Legal Specialist provides strategic legal advice to commodity trading and shipping businesses while ensuring compliance with governance requirements. They also manage relationships with external partners and work closely with the internal legal team to deliver pragmatic business guidance.
Candidates must be a qualified attorney with at least 6 years of post-qualification experience, preferably with an in-house background in commodity trading. Strong expertise in drafting cross-border agreements and familiarity with international trading standards like Incoterms and LME are essential.

As a Legal Specialist you will provide strategic legal advice to commodity trading and shipping businesses while ensuring compliance with internal and external governance requirements. Working closely with an experienced legal team within Anglo American, the role focuses on delivering practical, business-oriented guidance and maintaining strong relationships with key external partners such as law firms.

The ideal candidate must be a credible legal professional capable of understanding complex transactions and projects across various commodities (e.g. iron ore, copper, nickel), with a healthy curiosity and willingness to work autonomously. The role requires proactive business partnering and robust stakeholder engagement within a global, fast-paced sales and trading environment.
