Advancement at Auburn University is excited to begin the search for a Student Employee to provide support for the Building Operations department at the Auburn Alumni Center!
This position supports the day-to-day functions of facility operations and event services. This position assists with event setup and support, basic building maintenance tasks, and front desk operations to help ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all visitors.
Responsibilities
Assist with event setup and breakdown; including arranging tables, chairs, equipment, and signage according to event specifications
Provide on-site event support to ensure smooth execution, including troubleshooting basic issues and responding to staff or guest needs
Support building maintenance operations by performing light cleaning, reporting maintenance concerns, and assisting with minor upkeep tasks
Staff the reception desk by greeting visitors, answering questions, directing traffic, and providing general information
Monitor facility spaces to ensure cleanliness, organization, and adherence to policies
Assist with inventory, supply restocking, and equipment organization
Follow all safety procedures and report hazards or incidents promptly
Qualifications
Enrolled student at Auburn University, in good academic standing
Strong customer service and communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous customer service or event support experience
Ability to perform light physical work (lifting, moving furniture, standing for extended periods
Working Conditions:
May require evening and weekend availability based on event schedules
Ability to lift up to [insert weight, e.g., 25–50 lbs] and perform physical tasks related to event setup
