Join DTU in building Europe’s next-generation quantum-secure infrastructure. We are seeking a highly motivated QKD Networks and Standards Officer to drive global standardization efforts and spearhead our technical contributions to the cross-border EuroQCI initiative.
In this high-impact role, you will bridge the gap between pioneering laboratory research and international deployment. You will co-author emerging technical standards, manage cross-border key management networks, and represent our research group on the European stage.
Additionally, you will directly accelerate our core research by supporting grant proposals and collaborating with PhD students and postdoctoral researchers on advanced continuous-variable QKD systems.
The job
We are looking for a highly motivated candidate who will own and drive standardization efforts in quantum key distribution, coordinate our contributions to the EuroQCI QCI.DK-CB project from the technical side and support our research group in general. As a successful candidate you will:
Actively contribute in writing standards (by commenting on existing drafts, writing new drafts and lobbying).
Technically coordinate our cross-border quantum key distribution network activities with special focus on key management.
Write technical deliverables
Represent DTU at relevant events, e.g. from the EuroQCI coordination and support action.
Support our research activities in photonic integration of continuous-variable quantum key distribution with coherent and squeezed states of light.
Write grant proposals.
Support postdocs and PhD students, e.g. with journal paper writing.
Our expectations of you
You have a passion for quantum key distribution, especially with continuous variables and you are intrigued by quantum key distribution networks. You have the following qualifications:
Proven track record in standardization in the field of QKD
Experience with key management in QKD networks
Proven project management skills
Expertise in continuous-variable quantum key distribution and photonic integration
Excellent writing skills in English
Excellent communication and networking skills.
A PhD in quantum optics.

Salary and appointment terms
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union. This is a part-time position corresponding to 80% of full-time work, i.e., four days per week. The position is limited to three years. The expected starting date is September, 15th, 2026 or as mutually agreed upon.
