Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team in Lincoln, NE. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mechanical and electrical systems, with the ability to troubleshoot and repair various equipment and facilities. This role requires a proactive approach to maintenance, ensuring that all systems operate efficiently and effectively. The Maintenance Technician will play a crucial role in maintaining high standards of safety and functionality within our facilities. 

Responsibilities:

  • Replace burned-out light bulbs in common areas and entrances.  
  • Assist with basic plumbing and drain issues as needed. 
  • Perform general maintenance-related cleaning, including light covers and interior/exterior areas. 
  • Assist with HVAC check-ups and filter changes.
  • Perform routine inspections of buildings and equipment to identify maintenance needs.
  • Repair or replace door hardware such as locks, hinges, and handles.
  • Patch and repair drywall, holes, and minor structural damage.
  • Install and repair basic fixtures (shelving, blinds, curtain rods, etc.).
  • Assemble and move furniture or equipment as needed.
  • Caulk and seal windows, doors, and fixtures to prevent leaks and drafts.
  • Replace air filters, batteries, and other routine maintenance items.
  • Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance work areas.
  • Assist with appliance checks and minor repairs (stoves, refrigerators, etc.).
  • Test and replace smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance schedules.

Groundskeeping Duties:

  • Edge sidewalks, walkways, and curbs for a clean appearance.
  • Trim and prune bushes, shrubs, and small trees.
  • Remove weeds from landscaped beds, sidewalks, and parking areas.
  • Rake leaves and remove yard waste seasonally.
  • Plant flowers, shrubs, and seasonal plants as needed.
  • Water lawns, plants, and landscaping areas as needed.
  • Maintain flower beds, mulch, and decorative landscaping areas.
  • Clean and maintain outdoor common areas, patios, and seating spaces.
  • Pick up trash and debris from grounds daily.
  • Inspect grounds for hazards (fallen branches, uneven surfaces, etc.) and report or correct issues.
  • Maintain and clean exterior signage and entryways.
  • Assist with installing and maintaining irrigation systems.
  • Assist with snow removal operations.
  • Replace damaged ceiling tiles.
  • Assist with minor electrical repairs under supervision.
  • Assist with general painting projects.
  • Assist with opening and closing sprinkler systems for seasonal operation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to take initiative and work independently sometimes, but also can take and follow directions.
  • Some hands on/technical skills with figuring out how to do minor repairs.
  • Ability to climb ladders needed.
  • Pool maintenance and certification a plus.
  • Electrical/HVAC certification and experience a plus.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in General Maintenance a plus but not required.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Maintenance: 1-3 years (Preferred)
  • Driver's License (Required)
  • Ability to Commute
