The Assistant Manager supports the development and execution of compensation and benefits strategies to attract and retain talent. This role manages end-to-end compensation administration, oversees insurance programmes, and ensures policy compliance and cost-effectiveness.
Candidates must hold a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline with at least 5 years of relevant experience. Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills are required, with preference given to those with healthcare sector experience.
The Assistant Manager, Compensation and Benefits (C&B) supports the development and execution of compensation strategies and programmes that attract and retain talent. This role manages the end-to-end administration of compensation exercises, oversees benefits and insurance programmes, and ensure C&B policies remain competitive, compliant and cost effective.
Key responsibilities
Compensation administration
Review and enhance C&B policies, structures and processes, including cost benefit analysis, salary benchmarking and budget planning
Manage and administer compensation exercises, including salary review, performance bonus, annual wage supplement and variable payment schemes
Analyse compensation data to support decision making and maintain internal pay equity
Programme design and stakeholder collaboration
Design, develop and implement C&B programmes through effective collaboration with key stakeholders
Lead and participate in HR projects, driving process improvements and ensuring alignment with organisational and regulatory requirements
Policy and benefits management
Manage the review, update and communication of HR policies and employee handbooks
Lead company insurance renewals and benefits programme administration
Maintain standard operating procedures for C&B related processes
Others
Evaluate and manage external vendors, brokers and service providers, ensuring contractual obligations are met
Oversee medical, insurance and WICA claims
Ensure regulatory compliance across all compensation and benefits matters
Support the broader HR function as required
Requirements
· Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related discipline with at least 5 years of experience in compensation and benefits. Experience in the healthcare sector would be an advantage.
· Strong team player with excellent interpersonal, communication and analytical skills.
· Highly motivated and self-driven with the ability to work effectively in a fast paced and dynamic environment.

Open to everyone regardless of age, race, religion, or income level, DPH is dedicated to meeting the unique physical, emotional and spiritual needs of those who are nearing the end of life’s journey. The goal is to enhance the living, comfort the dying and support the grieving with compassion and dignity. At DPH, Every Moment Matters. DPH’s first patient was admitted in 1995, and since then, it has brought care and comfort to more than 10,000 terminally-ill patients and their families through a programme of active and compassionate service. In October 2014, DPH embarked on Programme Dignity for Advanced Dementia; a special patient-centric initiative, made possible by Temasek Cares, who generously funded the $2 Million. Based under DPH Home Care, Programme Dignity specifically provides Palliative Care to home-bound, advanced-stage Dementia patients, to address the needs of advanced dementia patients and their primary caregivers. To-date, more than 218* patients have benefitted from this Programme. From 2017, DPH will double its current in-patient 50-bed capacity, as well as expand its Home Care and Programme Dignity services, at a new facility - the Integrated Intermediate Care Hub (IICH), which will be part of HealthCity Novena.
