Responsibilities

Lead the implementation and improvement of physical models and numerical algorithms for in-house multiphysics solvers. Research and evaluate modeling approaches to ensure stability, convergence, and accuracy for industrial engineering applications.

Requirements

Requires a degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field with several years of experience in C++ algorithm development for simulation software. Must have a strong background in physics-based simulation methods such as SPH, FEM, or FVM.

Full job description

Your Mission

Dive CAE enables engineers to solve complex technical challenges with highly efficient, cloud-native multiphysics simulations. As our solver capabilities continue to expand, we are bringing together different numerical and physical approaches into one coherent solver architecture to address increasingly complex industrial applications.

You will become a key technical owner of the numerical algorithms and physical models at the core of our in-house solvers. This role goes beyond implementation: you will build a deep understanding of the mathematical foundations, numerical behavior and limitations to ensure accurate, robust and efficient models for real-world engineering applications.

Your Responsibilities

  • You provide technical leadership in the implementation and improvement of physical models and numerical algorithms in our in-house solvers, including SPH, FEM, FVM and novel approaches for multiphysics applications
  • You research, evaluate and adapt suitable modelling approaches to align them with our solver and product philosophy for industrial requirements
  • You experiment with prototypes, to identify unknowns, assess numerical behavior, supporting sound product and technology decisions
  • You design physical and numerical test cases to investigate the limits of our, models to build an applicability envelope
  • You analyze solver behavior in detail, including stability, convergence, and sensitivity to model assumptions
  • You collaborate with software developers to transfer knowledge and bring new physical and numerical developments into a production-ready state
  • You document underlying physical models, numerical algorithms and solver assumptions and communicate key findings, validation results and release-relevant insights to internal teams and stakeholders

Your Qualifications

We know that great candidates don't always meet every requirement. If you're excited about the opportunity and believe you can make an impact, we'd love to hear from you.
  • You have successfully completed a degree in engineering science, applied science, computer science, or similar
  • You bring several years of experience in developing algorithms for simulation software using C++, ideally complemented by solid Python skills
  • You have a strong background in physics-based simulation methods, ideally including SPH, FEM, FVM or related approaches
  • You have practical experience with solver development, physical model implementation or building simulation methods from the ground up
  • You have a keen eye for detail in numerical modelling, enabling you to identify the root causes of inaccuracies and assess the impact of model assumptions
  • You have strong communication skills to coordinate with technical teams, present complex findings and document results accurately
  • Professional fluency in English

Our Offer

  • A unique opportunity to shape the future of hardware engineering
  • Backing of leading investors who share our ambition to build a category-defining business
  • A commitment to transparency in how we communicate, collaborate, and approach career development and compensation
  • A highly motivated and ambitious team, with regular company events, celebrations, and offsites
  • An unlimited employment contract from day one with a mutual three-month notice period and 30 vacation days
  • An office culture with flexible working hours and the option to work remotely on selected days
  • A modern office in the heart of Berlin near Alexanderplatz, featuring panoramic views from the 20th floor
  • A comprehensive benefits package, including virtual shares, mobility and fitness budgets, complimentary drinks and snacks, and more
  • A signing bonus for candidates joining us directly from another employment

The Process

If you'd like to join our company, apply with your resume via our careers page or through a personal referral (other channels aren't supported). A cover letter isn't required, but you may include additional information if helpful. We aim to complete the process within two weeks.

We welcome and encourage applications from individuals of all backgrounds, ages, and cultural diversity.
