Responsible for the health and safety of youth in a residential treatment center, including managing behaviors and implementing treatment plans. Serves as a leader and mentor to Direct Care Professionals while assisting program managers with daily activities.
Requires a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of behavioral health experience (or six months of Devereux experience). Must be 21+ years old with a valid Arizona Driver's License and a Fingerprint Clearance Card.
Devereux Arizona’s Residential Treatment Center (RTC) provides intensive, 24-hour support for youth aged 7 to 17, who are experiencing serious emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges. In a structured, therapeutic environment, we combine clinical expertise with compassionate, trauma-informed care to help youth heal, grow and build a brighter future. The RTC features dormitories, an accredited K-12 school, food services, 24/7 on-site nursing, and specialized therapy and clinical services.
Lead Direct Care Professionals (Lead DCP) are responsible for the health and safety of campus individuals, as well as assisting Program Managers with the supervising, planning, and implementation of day-to-day program activities. Direct support duties: helping individuals with their mental health, managing behaviors and emotional needs, de-escalating crisis situations, treatment plan implementation, personal care (bathing, dressing), medication management, transport, fostering social skills, and supporting direct care staff. Other duties include being an active member of the treatment team, assisting with managing behaviors in accordance with the individualized treatment plans, and facilitating programming that promotes treatment goals and developmental skills. Lead DCP's serve as a role model, mentor, leader, and trainer to Direct Care Professionals. Lead staff also assist with the planning and implementation of enrichment activities such as art projects, music groups, culinary arts, various athletics (basketball, soccer, swimming), and adult-transition prep!
