Position Details

Reports to: Maintenance Manager  

Job Grade: Tech 2 - Grade 8 ($27.74 - $33.98); 

                     Tech 3 – Grade 9 ($30.34 – 37.25)

Classification: Hourly (Non-exempt) Full Time  

Department: Maintenance

Schedule: M-F 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.   

Location: Delaware, OH; Olentangy Campus

*Occasional off-shift hours and ability to serve on-call will be required

  

Summary of Responsibilities

Under general supervision this position is responsible for skilled labor of performing inspections, installations, and repairs on all equipment.

  

Essential Duties

· Inspect, install, maintain, and repair water treatment plants, elevated tanks, water pump stations, and distribution equipment. 

· Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment.

· Recommend solutions to problems both short term and long term.

· Dismantle equipment and install new or repaired parts.

· Tests parts and equipment to determine their performance

· Lubricates and cleans parts.

· Requisition parts and equipment within scope of authority. 

· Initiates purchase orders for parts and equipment.

· Keep accurate records and notes on repairs.

· Use of hand tools and power tools are required to perform maintenance and repair work.

· Ensure that tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored.

· Perform general cleaning as needed for a safe work environment.

· Know and follow all safety guidelines when working in the plant and with chemicals.

· Follow all recommendations for safe operating of tools and equipment.

· Work as a team member and cooperate with others on group projects.

· Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, co- workers, and management.

· Know and uphold the policies, procedures and philosophies of Del-Co Water Co., Inc.

· Must be available for emergencies, scheduled off-shift work, and “call outs”.

· Other duties as assigned.

Tech 3 additional essential functions: 

· Perform training / supervision as needed to complete work assignments.

· Assists Asset Management Coordinator reviewing PM tasks and recommends adjustments in tasks to properly maintain assets.

  

Minimum Qualifications

Any combination of training and work experience which indicates possession of the skills, knowledge, and abilities to perform the job duties successfully.  

Maintenance Tech 2 Qualifications:

· Completion of an apprenticeship program, military training, or other related training, and a minimum of 5 years related experience that demonstrates advanced problem-solving skills in electrical work.

Maintenance Tech 3 Qualifications:

· Completion of an apprenticeship program, military training, or other related training, and a minimum of 7 years related experience that demonstrates advanced problem-solving skills in electrical work.

· Demonstrated ability to read, understand and successfully modify electrical drawings.

 Other Competencies and Qualifications

· A high school diploma/GED.

· Must have electromechanical aptitude and some prior experience working with high voltage AC, PLC’s, MCC’s, control circuitry and wiring, and instrumentation. 

· Knowledge of National Electrical Code preferred. 

· Should have some exposure to instrumentation and calibration.

· Must have basic computer skills and some experience with Microsoft Office. 

· Must be a self-starter, be able to work with minimum supervision, be a neat well-organized individual, and have good communications skills. 

· Must be able to perform manual labor and be willing and able to work in adverse weather conditions.

· Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
