The ELL Teacher will deliver high-quality English language development instruction and collaborate with classroom teachers to ensure equitable access to grade-level content. They are also responsible for monitoring student progress through data analysis and building authentic relationships with students and families.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Education, TESOL, ESL, or a related field and possess a valid Pennsylvania teaching certification. At least one year of experience working with multilingual learners is preferred, along with strong knowledge of language acquisition strategies.

The teacher provides high-quality English language development instruction, collaborates with classroom teachers to ensure equitable access to grade-level content, and builds authentic relationships with students and families to foster language acquisition and overall student growth. The ELL Teacher plays a key role in implementing the school's vision for equity and excellence, ensuring all students achieve at high levels and embody the school's core values of practice, service, and purpose. The ELL Teacher reports to the Assistant Principal of Instruction and collaborates with the school team to create a positive and adaptive learning environment.

Practice because each and every individual in our school community, from student to leadership, will engage in deliberate practice, and value this as the path to excellence. Service because our service-learning model will be discipline based; it will require students to have a presence in the community, and reflect on their experiences regularly. Purpose because we want to empower our students to uncover their unique gifts and talents, and apply them towards an outward purpose about which they are passionate. The focus of our DRCS community is college preparatory, preparing students for success at a selective institution. The driving force in our community is world class teaching in every classroom. We will be utilizing the extended school day and extended school year. We opened for the 2018-2019 school year in the Kensington catchment neighborhoods of Philadelphia.
