The instructor will teach one section of the 200-level Psychology of Mental Illness course to undergraduate students. This involves surveying the origins, symptoms, and treatment of mental illnesses as described in the DSM.
A Master's degree is required, while a PhD or ABD status is preferred. Candidates must have prior experience teaching undergraduate students in an equivalent or similar course.

Purpose of Role
The Psychology of Mental Illness: This course surveys the origins, symptoms, and treatment of various forms of mental illness described in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.
The Department of Psychological Sciences at Daemen University is seeking a part time instructor for the Fall, 2026 semester to teach one section the Psychology of Mental Illness (a 200 level course) to undergraduate majors, minors, and non-majors. This course surveys the origins, symptoms, and treatment of various forms of mental illness described in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.
Qualifications
Masters' degree required, ABD/Ph.D.preferred. Prior experience teaching undergraduate students required, with either teaching experience in an equivalent course or courses with similar content.
