Provide peer support and recovery-focused guidance to individuals in behavioral health crisis to help them identify strengths and overcome barriers. Facilitate recovery-oriented groups and collaborate with clinical teams to ensure coordinated, person-centered care.
Requires a high school diploma, completion of DBDHS 72-hour training, and at least one year of personal recovery or family support experience. Must be registered with the VA Board of Counseling and pass multiple state background checks.

What You'll Do:
The Recovery Support Specialist – Training (RSS-T) role is a developmental position intended for individuals pursuing Virginia Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS) certification. Under the supervision of certified professionals and peer leaders, the RSS-T participates in structured training, coaching, and supervised practice while accumulating required certification hours and developing core peer support competencies.
We will provide up to 500 supervised hours that may be applied toward Virginia Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS) certification requirements, offering structured mentorship, professional development, and hands-on experience to support certification attainment.
