The OR Registered Nurse serves as a circulating nurse, providing direct patient care and advocacy while supporting surgeons and anesthesia providers. Responsibilities include maintaining a sterile operating environment and managing supplies and equipment for effective case management.
Candidates must hold an active RN license, an associate's degree or higher in nursing, and current BLS and ACLS certifications. Perioperative nursing experience is preferred, along with the physical ability to lift up to 100 lbs.

Horizon Surgery Center Beaches, located on the campus of Baptist Medical Center, our physician-led ambulatory surgery center is dedicated to delivering high-quality, patient-centered outpatient care. The facility features three active operating rooms specializing in Orthopedic Hand, General Surgery, and Neuro-Spine procedures.
In partnership with Compass Surgical Partners, we bring together the expertise of a local clinical team and the strength of national operational support. This collaboration fosters a culture where both patients and staff can thrive.
Role Summary:
The Operating Room RN provides direct patient care and serves as a patient advocate in the operating room. This role supports surgeons and anesthesia providers, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and dignity throughout the perioperative process.
Monday–Friday schedule, hours variable
No nights, weekends, holidays, or call
Serve as circulating nurse, supporting patients, surgeons, and anesthesia staff during procedures
Prepare and maintain a safe, sterile, and efficient operating environment
Accurately assess patient needs, provide reassurance, and involve families in care decisions when appropriate
Collaborate with the surgical team and communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and colleagues
Support patient safety, risk management, and quality improvement initiatives
Participate in staff education, orientation, and professional development
Organize and manage supplies, equipment, and staff for effective case management
Active RN license
Current BLS and ACLS certification
Associate’s degree or higher in nursing
Perioperative nursing experience preferred
Strong teamwork, communication, and patient-advocacy skills
Frequent standing, walking, and lifting
Occasional stooping, kneeling, or climbing
Regular interaction with patients of all ages in a fast-paced surgical environment
Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs (occasionally up to 100 lbs) and meet physical demands of the role
