The LPN provides direct and indirect patient care in the Emergency Department under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Responsibilities include medication administration, phlebotomy, and collaborating on patient care plans.
Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited practical nursing school and hold a valid LPN license from the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency. Those from non-accredited schools require three years of related professional nursing experience.

Make a Difference
Community South has a part-time LPN position available in the Emergency Department. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) performs direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and collaborates with the RN on the plan of care. The LPN directs patient care which can include assisting with ADLs, medication administration, and phlebotomy. The LPN may also provide indirect care which may include order transcription, documentation, and reinforcement of patient and family education. The LPN collaborates with other team members to perform other unit services as directed.
