The RDA is responsible for preparing patients for exams, taking digital X-rays, and assisting dentists during treatment procedures. They must also maintain a sterile environment and educate patients on aftercare and treatment options.
Candidates must hold a valid Texas-issued Registered Dental Assistant License and be proficient in digital X-rays and charting. Certifications in sealant placement, nitrous monitoring, and coronal polishing are required or available through training.
