Champaign Park District – Part-Time 2, Non-Exempt (not to exceed 19 hours per week on average)

About the Job

Do you enjoy sports and creating positive experiences for athletes? As a Sports Official, you'll play an important role in ensuring youth and adult league games are safe, fair, and enjoyable for all participants. This position is ideal for individuals who have a strong understanding of sports rules, can make confident decisions under pressure, and enjoy being part of a team-oriented recreation environment.

Summary of Responsibilities

Officiate youth and/or adult league games and tournaments according to established rules and Park District policies.
Make quick, impartial decisions and communicate calls clearly to players, coaches, and spectators.
Promote sportsmanship and maintain a safe, positive environment during games.
Manage and resolve conflicts effectively and professionally.
Mentor and support less experienced officials when needed.
Attend required meetings, training sessions, and workshops.
Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor while on duty.
Follow all Park District safety policies and procedures.
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
Adapt to officiating different recreation activities as assigned.
Work evenings and weekends based on program schedules.
Perform other duties as assigned.
