About Cerrion
At Cerrion, we’re building the future of AI-enabled manufacturing. Headquartered in Zurich and backed by Y Combinator and top Silicon Valley investors, we’re building a platform to deploy video AI Agents that can see what’s happening on the production floor, automatically spot problems, and instantly intervene to keep lines running smoothly, at scale. Our technology is live in factories across 15 countries, helping leading manufacturers in glass, beverage, food, CPG, building materials and wood cut downtime by up to 50%. We’ve reached an exciting inflection point — and we’re accelerating fast.
The Role
We’re looking for an Installation Team Leader to be the backbone of our installation operations. Based in Zurich, you’ll travel to customer sites — glass plants, food factories, packaging facilities — lead AI camera system installations, and set the technical standard for our growing Installation team. You’ll also build the playbook: site documentation, floor plans, cable routing standards, and installation checklists the team can reuse across future deployments.
This is not a desk job. A big part of the role is hands-on work in the field, with 40–50% international travel, mainly across Europe and occasionally to the US. You’re not just an installer — you’re the person who has seen it all before. When a cable goes missing at a factory in the US, you drive to the nearest electrical shop. When a junior installer is unsure about a mounting solution, you know what to do.
Your responsibilities
Lead On-Site Installations: Lead camera and hardware installations at industrial facilities, mainly across Europe with occasional travel to the US.
Set the Technical Standard: Act as technical lead for junior installers — set standards, review their work, and travel with them on early deployments to ensure quality. Lead the certifications and trainings your team needs.
Build the Playbook: Produce proper installation documentation — floor plans, cable schematics, configuration notes — and reusable checklists for future deployments.
Optimize the Process: Identify inefficiencies in how we install today and propose hardware solutions that are more efficient than the current ones.
Coordinate On-Site: Work with local contractors and facility engineers, and flag and solve logistical and technical problems independently — from sourcing materials locally to adapting mounting solutions.
Report and Improve: Debrief the team clearly after each deployment: what worked, what didn’t, and what to improve.
Desired Skills and Experience
Licensed Electrician: Certified to work in electrical cabinets operating above 24V. This is mandatory — a legal and safety requirement for our deployments.
Hands-On Field Experience: 5+ years of hands-on electrical or field installation experience.
Technical Documentation: Proven ability to read and produce floor plans and wiring diagrams.
Resourceful and Independent: You solve problems on the ground without needing to be told every next step, and you’re comfortable with everyday office tools — updating a shared spreadsheet, logging a task in our project tracker, communicating clearly on Slack.
Travel-Ready: Willing and able to travel internationally (40–50% travel). Fluent in English.
Preferred Qualifications
Industrial Environments: Experience in manufacturing, automation, or building systems.
Additional Languages: German, Spanish, or French are a strong plus.
Why Cerrion
Real impact: Every camera you mount and cable you route powers AI Agents running on real production lines in factories across 15 countries.
Ownership: You’ll own our installation operations end-to-end — from on-site execution to the playbook the whole team runs on.
Growth path: As our deployment footprint grows, you’ll shape and lead a growing Installation team.
Culture: Flat hierarchies, ambitious colleagues from all over the world, and a collaborative environment where the best idea wins.
Compensation: Competitive compensation and comprehensive support.
Location: Modern office in the heart of Zurich; enjoy the quality of life of Switzerland and the energy of a high-growth startup.
If you love hands-on technical work done right, want to set the installation standard for a fast-scaling AI company, and are excited about leaving a mark on a massive industry, we’d love to meet you.
