The specialist provides outreach, health coaching, and care coordination for individuals in recovery from substance use disorders. They act as a liaison between the agency and community resources to ensure clients have access to medical and behavioral health services.
Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED and a provisional CRPA certification, with full certification required within one year. Relevant life experience with substance use or disability is required to serve as a role model for clients.
JOB DEFINITION:
The Certified Recovery Peer Advocate I (CRPA I) functions as a member of an individual's treatment team to assist with the outreach, support and coordination of care for eligible service recipients. The CRPA I will serve as a role model and/or health coach for clients. The CRPA I is also responsible for assisting with the promotion of the Agency and its programs in the community, and will work with existing agency personnel and a variety of outside agencies to provide education on the existence of drug and alcohol use prevention services.
